Contact your Kansas Representative and say NO to the King Amendment!
Iowa Rep. Steve King is pushing a measure in Congress that could force states like Kansas to allow the sale of dangerous and inhumanely-produced products. The King Amendment is a massive threat to our nation regarding animal welfare and states' rights.
The amendment could nullify state laws concerning animal welfare, including puppy mill and dog meat sales, environmental protection, child labor, BPA in infant food containers, and more. If any one state permits the production or sale of a hazardous product or unethical production process, every other state could have to do the same.
It's crucial that Sen. Roberts hears from you soon. Not sure what to say? Use the paragraph below as an example.
"As a constituent of Senator Roberts, I urge him to ensure that the dangerous King Amendment is not included in the final version of the Farm Bill. The federal government shouldn't undermine the states' rights to protect consumers and animals. Thank you."
